still in london...

still in london...

Tuesday, October 31, 2000
so i promised i'd update from abroad.

i am in london now.

i want to keep this semi-brief because i am being charged to use the computer.

paris was wonderful. our hotel was a hoot (to put it nicely), but kristin and i will have great stories for our grandkids (cats).

we had wanted to leave for london yesterday, but the eurostar was not running due to horrible weather (england got a bad bad storm). so we left and arrived today.

london seems lovely so far. it reminds me of melbourne, australia.

tonight kristin and i are hoping to catch a play called pagent which sounds like miss. america meets a glam drag show! no joke! the male actors portray ms. west coast, ms. industraial northeast, ms. southern belle, ms. great plains and ms. bible belt. at the end of the performance, the audience votes on the winner. should be a hoot.

list of things karen wants to do in london:

see parliament in action
the jack the ripper tour
cd shopping
buy a new pair of doc martens
chinatown
wagamama
leave for the british countryside (i want to see some sheep)

i refuse to visit the british museum. too damn big. i think i'd get museum overkill there.

kristin wants to go to the tate gallery, but does not want to see parliament, so we'll probably split up some.

anyway, this is getting costly.

look later for more updates.
