I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Dowling High School, West Des Moines, Iowa.
I attended Iowa State University, University of Houston and Graduate School at the University of Iowa.  Presently, I am a chemist with the Food and Drug Administration in Lenexa, Kansas.  I have held similar type positions with the Environmental Protection Agency, Region VII, Kansas City, Kansas; the US Army Corps of Engineers, Missouri River Division, Omaha, Nebraska; and the University of Iowa Hygienic Laboratory in Des Moines, Iowa.
                                                                                                   
The primary purpose of these WEB pages is for genealogical research and information.  Hopefully, you will find this information useful should you be interested in any of the individuals found in these pages.  If you feel we are related in any way, please contact me and perhaps we can further share information.
I am directly descended from individuals with the following surnames (with the primary county):
BARTHELL (Allamakee), BRANDT, (Allamakee), BLOCK (Allamakee), BLUMER, (Scott, Sherman), BUTLER (Allamakee), BORCHERDING (Germany), CALNISCO (Sherman), DOYLE (Will), GALLAGHER (Allamakee), HARTBAUER (Allamakee), HEBERT (Will), LARRIVE (Nicolet, Quebec), LAVIGNE (Nicolet, Quebec), LEPAGE (Nicolet, Quebec), LUCHSINGER (Glarus, Switzerland), MORRISEY (Will), SCHEIRLEIN (Germany), SCHNEIDEREIT (Sherman, Will), SHOEMAKER (Reno?) and, of course, RYAN (Allamakee).   These families primarily settled in Iowa, (Allamakee, Clayton, Scott and Winneshiek), Illinois (Livingston and Will), Kansas (Reno) and Nebraska (Sherman).  They emigrated from Ireland (Donegal, Tipperary and Wexford), Germany (East Prussia, Saxony and Bavaria), Switzerland (Glarus) and from Canada (Quebec).
