This poem is by a very dear sweet lady it is my honor to know. It was written as a tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 trying to save others. I hope it reminds all of us of every firefighter, police officer and rescue worker who risked and lost their lives and those who still do....every day. I thought this was very special and deserved its own page. I hope you agree. Kim |
UNSUNG HEROS |
Valiant men and women Risking life and limb Sent in to rescue us from a mad mans deadly whim Unsung heroes... oh no! not this time you were pawns in a fatal game. You gave your lives unselfishly rushing straight into the fray. Smoke and dust became your world your own safety you did not heed. You raced into the crushing flames thinking only of those in need. You will not be forgotten your sacrifice was not small. You live inside our hearts and souls you are mourned by us all. Words can never fully express what this heartfelt dedication means. In honor and loving remembrance of those who died to keep us free. © ORH 9/2001 |
