1. This week we focused on Jesus' moral teachings. The biggest part of his teachings that we focused on was from his Sermon on the Mount in which he gave us the Beatitudes, the Our Father, and basically set down a new law for people to follow, updating the old Mosaic Law. In this new law his most radical idea was to love your enemies which was unheard of at the time and still is today. He also gave us the Golden Rule, to treat others the way we would like to be treated.

2. I want to remembr Father O'Malley's four main criteria for what it means to be a Christian:
Belief that Jesus is the embodiment of God
He died and rose in order to save us
We must become people for others and not individualists in the world
Celebrating our community at the service of a meal

Then, how strong the Faith is and all the preparations, spiritually, the suicide bombers go through was a big shock to me. I assumed before that all of the terrorists were strong men of Faith because they believe that what they are doing is a Holy War but it still amazes me that they have that much Faith in Allah and their Koran.

Finally, I'd like to remember Father Tetlow's ways to read Scripture of contemplation, meditation, and consideration so that next time during Mass I do not just listen blankly to the readings.

4. During the Liturgy of the Word in Mass, do I listen to the Scriptures and think about them, or is it just in through one hear and out the other?

5. I can start to really listen to Scriptures reading and try to follow Fr. Tetlow's guidelines so that I learn more and really get something out of them. I can also follow Jesus' moral teachings and examine my life now to see how often I do stuff that he wanted us to do like love my enemies and see if I can improve on these.
