"You've heard about it then?" Muttered a voice, into Rayv's ear. He was half thinking that it was his dragon talking but it wasn't. It was a silly relative of his: Sarasvati. "My sister and her silver have gone to the Flurry - but we're going to head to Sanrix Azon for their Dark Frenzy."
"What is this 'we' you're talking about, Sarasvati?" Groaned Rayv. He'd come in late the night before, and felt like he hadn't slept but a few minutes.
It has only been a few minutes. She came in right after she saw me land.
"Make her go away," Rayv waved his hand, and tried to get rid of the healer-woman.
She has a valid point - there is a flight at Azon and it is for just dragons such as ourselves. Red, black, dark... I will enjoy chasing there.
"... You're kidding..." Rayv said, slowly sitting up. "Sarasvati, remember to remind your dragon that he and my Zasith shouldn't try for the same females. Because Derewith is going to lose if he tries."
Laughing, Sarasvati danced out of the chamber and headed off to locate other poor saps for the flight. They had two males, now she was interested in finding some females for them to chase...
If she wanted to head away to Blackstone, there were one or two riders and dark-colored dragons there... "Aha!" Sarasvati skipped about until she bounded up to her red dragon. "Rael. Black and gold... sweeeet. You'll like her. She's a tough cookie."
Like you?
"Not ... entirely but hey, she's trained in the same stuff and I'm sure she'll come." They paid a visit to the young woman, one of Baeris Kshau's four daughters. True to form, she was a bit hesitant to join in, but then Tintalleth decided that she too wanted to play.
I do not have to pretend not to be a queen - here I can be black and gold and fly with whoever I want! Tintalleth pranced around the Den until Rael agreed to let them go.
"Just one more. Just... Hmn..." Sarasvati tapped her fingers on her forehead, and Rael offered to show off a certain records room in the Den.
"Well, if you think he'd be willing to leave his world for a little while. The hydragon can fly, we know that. I just wonder if she'd want to play with the rest of us."
... Hydragon?
"Yup," Rael nodded. "I want to see her in action."
They went carefully through the records until they located the right directions to visit Lifera and Odir. Finally, able to convince her quickly - her rider less so - they went to sign up at Azon.

Black Zasith - Male, around 4 years old, from Wild River Caer - Ridden by Rayv of Paveh Size: Medium small, around the size of a smallish blue. Zasith almost died after a long, hard hatching. He is quick, but tires rapidly. |

Red Derewith - Male, about 4 years old, from Wild River Caer (as above) - Ridden by Sarasvati of Paveh Size: medium to large, around the size of a typical Brown. Derewith is able to discern weakness and spot openings, so his flight seems erratic but it's really very effective. |

Gold-Black Tintalleth - Female, about 5 years old, from Falas - Ridden by Rael Kshau of the Healing Den Size: small for a gold, but still quite big as dragons go, around the size of a brown. Tintalleth wants to prove herself worthy of any good flight grounds, and won't allow just any dragon to pair with her! She's picky! |
Black Winged Red Hydragon Odir - Female, around 3 years old, from Cydragonstake - Ridden by Lifera Size: ... big. Really large. She is angry, nasty, testy, and generally fits her rider's personality to a T. She will try biting (or at least nibbling) her mates, and with five heads she's got a good chance of doing it. |
