JULIUS CAESAR SCENE SUMMARIES : ACT V Scene I. In this scene we have Cassius, Brutus, Octavius, and Antony who meet on the battle field ready to die for what they have created (Antony wants to get revenge for Caesars death while Cassius and Brutus are waiting to receive punishment for what they did, kill Caesar.) I think this scene is important for the fact that it shows that the men who are fighting can meet in the middle of a battlefield (before the fight) and talk not insulting each other but rather compliment except Octavius who is basically saying that those who killed Caesar will die by describing what happened to Caesar and telling Brutus and Cassius will die in the matter that Caesar did Brutus- sword to the hart and Cassius- swift sword swipe to the back of the neck. After the meeting is over its Brutus and Cassius in their tents talking about the next day and if they don’t meet again they both wish each other good luck and say farewell. Scene II . Not much to summarize here because the scene is only six lines. Well in the scene Brutus tells Messala word to get ready for war and get the troops ready as well. Scene III . Another important scene where Cassius misinterprets what hes sees when he sends Titineus to go see what is happening but as Titinuis is riding he has been surrounded by other riders a cry of victory rings out but Cassius thinks that the other side has caught an enemy. Seeing this Cassius says his farewells and asks his servant Pindarus to stab him with the same sword he stabbed Caesar with. Obeying his masters request Pindarus stabs Cassius and runs off this is when Titinuis and Messala come and see that Cassius is dead. Messala goes to deliver the horrid news to Brutus and when Messala is gone Titinuis says his Farewells and crows Cassius with a wraith that Brutus asked Titinuis to give Cassius and then stabs himself. Messala and brutus come back to see that now not one man but two men are dead. Scene IV. This scene is not as important as I or III but its fairly good because Lucilius poses as Brutus and screams about the field like a mad man. Young cato does the same thing except cato gets killed and “Brutus” gets captured. “Brutus” is found out by Antony and Antony tells that this is not Brutus but as good as Brutus treat him with full respect and find out if Brutus is alive or dead bring word to Octavius’ tent. Scene V. Yet another important scene the last of the book, in this scene Brutus is sad that all of his friends are dead and he asks the rest of his men to kill him. All his men basically tell him that they would rather kill themselves than even think of killing him. News is brought that the rest of Antony’s men are heading toward them. The rest of Brutus’ men tell him he must flee and flee fast brutus does this and finds himself alone where he then takes the same sword that killed Caesar and stabs himself. END. |
