Character Analysis
Julius Caesar and Marcus Brutus are the two main characters in Act II of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. They play a vital role in the act. It is built around them and how they behave. Most of the action is created by them. Julius Caesar and Brutus were both affected in the act. They contributed greatly to Act and the action that occurred in the act.
Julius Caesar, the main character of the play, is trying to become the head leader of Rome. Early in the play Julius is not afraid of anything or anyone and is determined to be the king of Rome. A lot of the Roman citizens are afraid for Caesar to become king because they think he will not make a good king. A certain group of people, the conspirators, go as far as to plot the assassination of Caesar. His own friend Brutus takes action in plotting Caesars' death. After Caesar dies, he comes back in the play as a ghost to haunt Brutus for participating in hid murder. He is still fearless and ambitious when it comes to getting what he wants.
Another one of the main characters in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar Act II is Julius Caesar's friend Marcus Brutus. He is also a popular and well liked Roman Citizen. Although he speaks highly of Caesar and like him he also participates in the assassination.. Brutus doesn't want to kill Caesar for personal reasons. He has the Romans, as a whole, future in mind. He is scared because Julius is an ambitious leader that has the power and capability of making the people slaves. Later in the play after Caesar comes back as a ghost to haunt Brutus. Brutus decided to commit suicide instead of dealing with the torture of Julius' ghost. Marcus Brutus, along with Julius Caesar are the two main characters of the play Julius Caesar. |
