(Mildly) Pointless Crap

Is now closed due to author prerogative

After much soul searching and some 3am ruminations I've decided to bite the bullet, turn off the life support and take down my fanfiction.

It's been a fun ride through fandom, starting out in the late 90's with a heavy obsession with Red Dwarf, through the hedonistic days of my addiction to BTVS and feedback, to Harry Potter and culminating in a few last death rattles with Firefly and Tomb Raider among others.

If you read my stories and enjoyed them, then I'm glad. I have met some wonderful writers and fellow fans through my fanfic obsessions and appreciate all the generous, kind and useful feedback I've received over the years.

However, this is a chapter of my life that is now closed. I haven't written fanfiction now for almost three years and honestly I don't think I will again. I also have a few pangs of conscience about adding to the ever increasing level of smut available on the internet - what seemed edgy and hawt in my 20s seems kind of tawdry now I've started my 30s. I'm also aware that although there are many fine examples of literature among the fanfiction genre there's also stuff out there that is truly unpleasant and quite possibly illegal. I would hate for anyone to stumble onto one of those stories and become traumatised because they had read one of my fics and become addicted to a pairing. I don't want my stories to be something of a gateway drug to harder fanfic ;)

I know that many of my fics are scattered over the internet and some have been archived elsewhere. If I have previously given you permission to archive my stories then I will stand by that decision but if you do remove them the next time you tidy up that would be appreciated. If you do have a copy of any of my stories and I have not previously given you permission to publish or redistribute those particular stories (even if you have permission archive others) on your own archive, website or blog, please don't.
