New songs:
• The guys wrote and recorded four new songs, two of which will
appear on the Greatest Hits CD, and two which will be released at a
later date (LR Christmas present, anyone?!). The recording took place
in a studio in Toronto and the songs are called
• It's Only Me (The Wizard of Magicland)
• Thanks That Was Fun
• I Don't Get It Anymore
• I Can, I Do, I Will
I Don't Get It Anymore and It's Only Me have been getting regular
airings at the latest concerts. Steve explained that the (The Wizard
of Magicland) title came about during the recording sessions after
Kevin yelled those words out at the end of a guitar jam session and
made everyone fall about laughing.

• The Paul McCartney (http://www.paulmccartney.com/) tribute CD, the
same one, I guess, that everyone thought was a hoax last year, now
has a release date! Weird. It's called Listen to What the Man Says,
and is released on 9th October. Steve Page, Kevin Hearn and the
lovely Stephen Duffy have recorded one of the tracks, Junk.

• It seems pretty certain that there will only be one GH disk this
time around, tentatively called Barenaked Ladies: All Our Greatest
Hits. US release date is 13 November. No news on other release dates.
The LR announced recently that there will be a DVD release early next
year, but no details of what would be included. Ed has said that they
will release the B-sides and rarities disk separately "soon". Fingers
crossed.

The sharp ones among you (or those who managed to keep up with the
news despite my tardiness!) will notice that the final song is
undecided as yet. Last I heard you could vote online for your
preferred choice at VH1.com, but I may have missed the boat on that
one!

• Once upon a time, Lauren went to a concert. And when she came back
she wrote up a fantastic (http://www.alltel.net/%
7Elazysranch/livebnl.html) review of it - run on over and see what
she has to say...
• And then, once upon another time, Aubrey went to a different
concert. And when she got back, she scanned in lots of delicious
(http://www.gis.net/%7Eaubrey/linktoallpics.htm) piccies!
• Launch.com have a preview
(http://music.launch.com/artist/default.asp?artistID=1001925&vo=) of
the Falling for the First Time video online, for your delight and
delectation. It features Harland Williams(http://us.imdb.com/Name?
Williams,+Harland) , Kevin's cousin and comic actor.
• MusicChoice (http://www.pieceofsky.com/bnluk/) aired a one-hour TV
concert special during August (I apologise again for taking so long
to do this update!), and clips appear on their web page.
• BNL have been nominated for two MMVAs (MuchMusic Video Award) for
Too Little, Too Late in the Fave Canadian Video category and for Best
Canadian Band. Vote here!( http://www.pieceofsky.com/bnluk/) The
awards will be broadcast live on 23rd September (BNL are playing a
festival in SF that day, so unlikely they'll appear live).

board is better than ever!
• Found an old interview with Jimmy C from 1999, here

• And last, but not least, for this update, a small article
(http://www.iwon.com/home/music/music_overview/0,16111,newsCon_launch_

as there's a small hint of pleasurable things to come...
