Katherine Comes

My mother sent a card to
me confessing she?s no God,
no deity to worship, no fire
burning hot
She?s merely a flame with
a whisper spoken wick, that
wanted to see the world, but
was too scares to make the
trip, still sometimes a little girl.
Yes, mother had a message
for me and I heard
every word, Katherine is
cooling, and her flame
would like to meet a bird.
Would like me to fly over
seas, faster than light
can race, Kathereine has such
hopes for her song bird
that seems to hide his face.
Mother knows her son has
never likes his name, so
she smiles and lights up the
room with her flame.
Katherine knows it?s easier to
see when his eyes aren?t in
the way, she says, ?Listen with
your heart. Hear what it has to
say.?
?And know what it means when
it says it wants to fly. Don?t
be frightened of yourself and
give your wings a try.?
Katherine, your breeze has
up-rooted trees and made
castles out of sand. Your
beautiful flame only bears
your name, my tempest, my
storm, my hurricane., I could
fit in the palm of your hand.
This bird is no black sheep,
and will no longer use these
wings to hide.
Lets open the windows and
step outside, yes Katherine,
my mother, my bright burning
candle, lets go for a
ride.
