WINTER SONGS & POEMS
First you make a snowball,
(rolling motion)
Big and fat and round.
(spread arms wide)
Then you roll the snowball,
(rolling motion)
All along the ground.
Then you build the snowman,
One-two-three!
(place three pretend balls on top of each other)
There is your snowman.
Don't you see?
(point to eyes)
The sun shines all around and melts him to the ground.
(drop to the floor in a melting motion)
Five little snowpeople standing in the door.
(Hold up 5 fingers)
This one melted and then there were four.
(Bend down 1 finger)
Four little snowpeople underneath a tree.
This one melted and then there were three.
(Bend down 1 finger)
Three little snowpeople with hats and mittens too.
This one melted and then there were two.
(Bend down 1 finger)
Two little snowpeople outside in the sun.
This one melted and then there was one.
(Bend down 1 finger)
One little snowperson trying hard to run.
He melted too and then there were none.
(Bend down last finger)
Snowman, snowman, where did you go?
I built you yesterday out of snow.
I built you high and I built you fat.
I put on eyes and a nose and a hat.
Now you're gone all melted away.
But it's sunny outside so I'll go and play.
Three little zippers on my snowsuit,
(hold up three fingers)
Fasten up as snug as snug can be.
It's a very easy thing as you can see.
Just zip, zip, zip!
(make 3 zipping motions)
I work the zippers on my snowsuit.
Zippers do save time for me.
I can fasten them myself with one, two, three.
Just zip, zip, zip!
(make 3 zipping motions)
Children put your coats on, your coats on, your coats on.
Children put your coats on, one, two, and three.
Children put your hats on, your hats on, your hats on.
Children put your hats on, one, two, and three.
Children put your mittens on, your mittens on, your mittens on.
Children put your mittens on, one, two, and three.
Children put your boots on, your boots on, your boots on.
Children put your boots on, one, two, and three.
Children put your scarves on, your scarves on, your scarves on.
Children put your scarves on, one, two, and three.
Now let us go outside, go outside, go outside.
Now let us go outside, one, two, and three.
A chubby little snowman
(make a fist)
Had a carrot nose.
(poke thumb out)
Along came a bunny,
And what do you suppose?
(make rabbit ears with other hand)
That hungry little bunny
Looking for his lunch
(hop around like bunny)
Ate that snowman's carrot nose.
(nibble at thumb)
Crunch, crunch, crunch!
