Cut out 10 medium hearts from poster board.
Put a number on one side and matching set of
valentine stickers, red dots, etc... on the other.
Cut in half like a jagged puzzle. We used little lip
stamps for one side and dots on the other for the younger kids.

Cut out several heart shapes in felt. Make them
range from larger to smaller. Give the children a
large felt board to arrange in order of size.
You can go from large to small and small to large.

We took ours to the daycare kids in our building.

Valentine Prints:
Provide white, pink and red paint in shallow
pans. Add valentine cookie cutters to dip in paint.
Use on heavy construction paper. You can also use
the sponge shapes when you are finished with them in
the water. Make sure they are throughly dry.

Use white chalk with red and pink construction paper.

Heart Wreath:
Give each child a paper plate with center cut out.
Cut out many small hearts in red, white and pink.
Have children glue the hearts around the edge to make a wreath.
You can do both sides and add a piece of yarn to hang as a mobil.

Heart Cards To Go Home:
Provide pre-cut (depends on age) hearts out of construction paper.
Provide lacy material, yarn, felt, glitter, pom-poms, etc...
for children to decorate. Have kids tell you what they want printed.
Add the date on the back of the card.

Flowers To Go Home:
Use any paper cupcake holders. Some come in Valentine Day
designs. Give each child a pipe cleaner. Twist the end of
the cupcake holder and wrap the pipe cleaner around it. You
can have them twist smaller sections of green pipe cleaners
around the stem for leaves if they wish. Make several for a bouquet.

Stained Glass Hearts:
Give each child a piece of wax paper. Have them use a potatoe
peeler to shave pieces of crayons onto the wax paper. Lay another
piece of wax paper on top and (adult) use an iron to melt the crayons.
Children can use a stencil to trace a heart and cut out. Add a piece
of ribbon or yarn to hang in a window.

I am learning how to share.
This hug is for you!

Catch the child in arms at the end.

Blow up several red, white and pink balloons.
Stretch nylon pantyhose over bent coat hangers,
making sure the ends are tightly wrapped in duct tape.
Children can try to keep the balloons off the floor
and in the air. Remember to keep all broken balloons
off the floor and away from the kids.

Valentine March:
Place large hearts on the floor with numerals on them.
Play music as children step on the hearts marching around.
When the music stops the children tell what number they are standing on.
For younger children use dots to count, shapes, colors, or pictures of toys.

Musical Hugs:
Play music on Valentine's Day in the background.
Any time during the day the children are all gathered
on the circle and the music stops you must give the
