Arts & Crafts

Seed Collage:
Provide children with a variety of seeds such as
corn, beans, split peas (nice green color), pumpkin
and flower seeds. Tint glue with food color to get
a nice pastel mix. Use small brushes to paint paper
and sprinkle on seeds.

Fruit and Vegetable Collage:
Have kids draw or cut out pictures of fruits
and vegetables from a magazine. Glue onto paper plate
or construction paper.

Fruity Fingers:
Make finger prints on paper and cut out.
Have kids tell what fruit the shape looks like.

Easel Fruits:
Cut white construction paper into fruit
shapes. Paint with appropriate colors.

Potato prints:
Cut potatos in half. Pour paint in shallow trays.
Dip potatos in paint and print on paper. We have also
done this with bananas. It was messy but a lot of fun!

Play Dough Molds:
Have kids mold their favorite fruit or veggie using
playdough. If you wish you can line them up in a window
and let them dry. It will take a week or so to dry using
regular playdough.

Celery Painting:
Paint on construction paper with celery leaves.
