By The Campfire

We sat around the campfire
On a chilly night
(hug self)
Telling spooky ghost stories
In the pale moon light
(point up at the moon)
Then we added some more logs
To might the fire bright
And sang some favorite camp songs
Together all night
(la la la la la)
And when the fire flickered
And embers began to form
We snuggled in our sleeping bags
All cozy, tired and warm
(Lie down and pretend to sleep)

(talk to one wiggling finger then the other)

(fly finger around behind your back then the other)
Come back Jack. Come back Jill.
(bring fingers back separately)

Eating chocolate Smores
One got a bellyache
Then there were four.

(hold up 4 fingers)
Climbing up a tree
One couldn't get up
Then there were three.

Three little campers
(hold up 3 fingers)
All sad and blue
One started smiling
Then there were two.

Two little campers
(hold up 2 fingers)
Sitting in the sun
One took a nap
Then there was one.

One little camper
(hold up 1 finger)
All alone
He saw his mama
And ran away home.
