APPLE ACTVITIES
Sensory
Cut different types of apples for a tasting party.
Extend on other days to include: applesauce, apple cider,
apple juice, and apple pie.
Place several different kinds of seeds on a tray to sort by shape.
Use tweezers for a little fun.
Apple Math
Place a scale on the table and weigh various apple slices.
For those who are already counting cut two sets of apples
from construction paper. One Red and one Green. Draw black dots
on each such as two dots on a red and two dots on a green.
Let kids match the number of dots to another.
Apple Science
Solar Baked Apples:
Line 2 cups with black paper.
Place 2 equal-sized slices in each cup.
Cover with plastic wrap held with rubber bands.
With paper and tape make a cone.
Place one apple cup into it.
Cover the inside of another paper cone
with aluminum foil and place second apple cup into it.
Place both in a sunny window on newspaper.
Which one cooks faster?
Dramatic Play
Apple Stand:
Set up a board between two blocks.
Provide the children with plastic apples,
apple baskets, play money, cash register,
receipts, wallets and purses.
You can also add farm clothes!
Arts & Crafts
Apple Painting:
Cut apple shapes from sponges to dip in paint.
Cut real apples in half to dip in paint.
Use apple seeds and other types to glue on paper.
Have kids color 2 paper plates with pens.
Put a few seeds on a plate then staple together
to create a shaker to use during music or circle.
Apple Circle Games
Hot Potato:
Play music as an apple is passed around.
When the music stops whoever is holding the apple
runs all the way around the circle.

"Charoses":
12 Chopped apples
1 cup raisins
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup white grape juice
