Applesauce Cake

This is a good Math/Science project.
Lot's of measuring but just mix it all together!

2 cups sugar
1 cup heavy oil (such as Wesson)
2 T cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ground cloves
1-1/3 cups thick applesauce
3-1/2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs

Hand mix ingredients in a large bowl.
Place batter in greased angel food pan (heavyweight) and bake one hour at 350 degrees until a toothpick comes out dry.

Strawberry Patch Cake

Supervise kids with a butter knife. Plastic knife works too.
But a pizza cutter is more fun!

One Pound Cake
One can strawberry pie filling
Cool Whip Lite
Green jelly beans

Cut pound cake in slices.
Spoon on strawberry pie filling.
Spoon on whipped topping.
Refrigerate 1 hour.
Add green jelly beans for strawberry leaves.
