I remember way back in the mid 1980's discovering this wonderful new comic strip called Calvin and Hobbes. I loved it! Many years have come and gone since the first time I cracked the spine on "Calvin and Hobbes," but not a day goes by that I don't long for the humour stored in the pages of a 6 year old and his pal.
As I read the strips and laugh, I think back to when I was 6 and only wish that I could be that young again. Carefree and chaotic. Proud member of G.R.O.S.S. and tormentor of neighborhood girls! Everyone needs a buddy to share the experiences of childhood with...oh to have a Hobbes when I was 6!
It was with heavy heart and much sadness that I bid farewell to Calvin and his stuffed sidekick those many months ago. But forever they will live in those cherished books I read.
