another fryday

another fryday,
early into it,
but I've been into it
for longer than most
scratching paper
with a new stolen pen
that bleeds through this
newest of black composition books.

full massive clouds litter the sky
with its gradient of every shade of blue
the sun
poking in and out
from behind different masses
makes appearances
every now and again
with varying levels of scorching ultra-violet rays.

the scenario
no different than usual
a beer, a gone
repeat and rinse
as the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy,
floating overhead
my landlady
my reporter's wife
with the wrath of a subtle fall breeze
the power and fury of nothing
but wait until big brother Dennis shows up...
Category Four Hurricane
likely to fizzle after it destroys Florida and the Carribean
repeat and rinse.

The kids play in the sand with the neighboring grandchildren
and the poor lost one
of Eastern European lineage
while I continue to bake unwittingly,
under this hot July sun,
who has been hidden by peculiar weather
Early hurricane season conditions
months ahead of schedule
But those who have already died at its hands
Don't echo my sentiment as I gradually burn away.
