Chapter 8-Called to be Dreamers: Parables and Miracles by Patrick Roy
1. What was the major topic of this chapter?
The major idea of this chapter is being called to be dreamers. The way Jesus taught (through stories and parables) allowed people to understnad and to interpet their own morales into his stories. Another way he spread his message of God was through miracles. He opened the eyes of many through this and it portrayed the fact that God is with us always. This chapter calls us to understand, interpet and see and to dream of the extraordinary deeds that Jesus Christ did when he was alive.
2. Write about two major ideas you want to remember. Write a short paragraph on each clearly stating the idea and then telling why you want to remember it.
One idea that I would like to remember is that Jesus preformed many miracles and told many parables so that it would help us better understand what life with him and what the kingdom of heaven will be like. He showed us that He was the Son of God, the one that the prophets had foretold about before Jesus' time. He helped put things that were complicated and hard to understand for us into terms we could understand. He was someone that healed people not only to show us his great power, but to help them because they were also hurting.
A second idea I would like to remember is that of the importnace of the parables. Jesus connected his life experiences and his listeners through the use of parables. He also taught them about the kingdom of God and how we can accomplish it. The parables Jesus taught lead us on a journey towards truth. They challenge us to move closer to the kingdom and to help Gpd build his kingdom here on Earth and in Heaven. God is the center of our journey, and through these parables his kingdom is revealed.

4. One significant question you have from this chapter. It can be intellectual or personal.
What do Jesus' Parables and his Miracles have in common?
Possible Answer: Both lead us towards God. They explain that God is the center of our 'journey' and we need to work with him to build the kingdom of God. Also, they both were used/worked by Jesus, the Son of God.
