Elijah's story is found in 1 Kings 17-22 and 2 Kings 1-2. Elijah is also mentioned in the New Testament during the Tranfiguration. This is recorded in Matthew 17: 1-9, Mark 9: 1-9, and Luke 9: 28-36. Now for some quick facts:

Elijah was a very key part of Hebrew salvation history. He helped to rid Israel of false gods and prophets, as well as the kings that supported them. Also, Elijah shows to us the value of perseverence. He kept on plugging away to get rid of false prophets, and to save his own life. Also, God revealed to us that He is always near us. Even if it may not seem that He is there, He is. He wasn't there in an earthquake, but in a small, whispering voice. This helps us to search for God in all things, just as Ignatius did.
My favorite quote for Elijah during this story was:
"It is not I who disturb Israel, but you and your family, by forsaking the commands of the Lord and following the Baals." (1 Kings 18:18)
This is showing Elijah's courage for standing up to those that want him dead. This is a response to King Ahab accusing of Elijah as the "disturber of Israel".
