German Shepherd/All dog Rescue of St. Louis
German Shepherd Dog Rescue of St. Louis is a group of people committed to rescuing animals from the streets of St. Louis as well as rescuing animals from shelters where they would be immunized for no other reason than a lack of space. This means that the rescue is a no kill shelter, so every dog that passes through their hands is found a new home where it will be loved and well cared for no matter how long it may take to find that forever home. Through the work of an all-volunteer staff the shelter provides foster homes for each dog as they are treated for any medical or behavioral problems and wait to be adopted. As a not for profit organization they rely on their volunteers for all of the work that goes into caring for and screening applicants to adopt the dog. However, the connection with the dog between the organization and the dog and its adoptive family is not broken when the dog is adopted, they continue to make follow ups with the dog in order to ensure the dog’s welfare over it’s entire life. In addition if someone can no longer care for his or her adopted dog the shelter will take it back.
The people of GSDR illustrate faith by caring for those who do not have a voice and yet have so much love to give, a dog maybe emaciated with heartworms and fleas and these people will nurse that dog back to health so that it may enjoy the rest of its life with a family who loves it.
The group has saved many dogs lives throughout their existence including the life of my dog who otherwise would have been euthanized do to overpopulation at a St. Charles Shelter.
If anyone is interested in adopting a dog whether it be a German Shepherd or any other type of dog all of the information can be found here.
Through their constant dedication to saving the lives of helpless animals the people of GSDR show how important it is to help those without a voice find the loving home that they so desperately need.
