1. Faith is a firm belief or trust in someone or something such as your religion. That is the secular definition of faith, the Catholic definition of faith goes beyond that explaining faith as seven different things. Faith is a grace, grace being the free and undeserved help that God gives to us and a supernatural gift. Faith requires a free human response, we must choose faith through free will which is the choice between two or more options which only we can make. Faith is a risk, any relationship is uncertain, it requires that we put ourselves out there in order to grow closer to another person or to God, in the process we may get hurt and that is where the risk occurs. Faith is reasonable, blind faith-believing in God with nothing to support the belief is not reasonable, if being true to your conscience and to your intellect causes you to not have faith than it is better not to have faith than to having blind faith. Faith is certain, there is no doubt it is complete belief and trust. Faith seeks understanding, by having faith in something we want to grow in our faith and the way to do this is by learning more about our faith through research and asking questions. Faith is a virtue, it is moral excellence and right action and thinking.

- "The Mission"- I want to remember the faith that Fr. Gabriel and Rodrigo showed even in the face of such adversity and despair. I want to grow as strong in my faith as they were in theirs. To sacrifice my life for my faith is something I could probably never do but I hope and pray that were I ridiculed for my faith I would have the strength to stand up for my faith rather than turn against it just to fit in.
- Dick Hoyt- I want to remember the hope that Dick had for Rick, taking a chance by asking the people of Tufts University to create a communication device for Rick even when the rest of the world said Rick was braindead. I want to remember that Dick worked so hard to compete in a marathon with Rick only because that's what Rick wanted to do and couldn't do it himself. I hope that I can become so selfless that I can think of others before myself in every aspect of my life and only wish to be more generous.
- Jim Goddnight- I want to remember to never fear being different to be better, through business practices in which his employees are his biggest investment Goodnight creates a profitable and growing business but also insures the welfare of his employees and their families by providing daycare, a gym, and reducing their workload to thirty-five hours a week. In times when businesses are ever more concerned with profits, Goodnight remains concerned about his employees and has faith in their ability to do high quality work and have healthy happy lives.

4. Do I have the kind of faith that I am willing to be ridiculed for and am I selfless enough to give of myself to others even when it is hard?
