1. Faith is a firm belief or trust in someone or something such as your religion. That is the secular definition of faith, the Catholic definition of faith goes beyond that explaining faith as seven different things. Faith is a grace, grace being the free and undeserved help that God gives to us and a supernatural gift. Faith requires a free human response, we must choose faith through free will which is the choice between two or more options which only we can make. Faith is a risk, any relationship is uncertain, it requires that we put ourselves out there in order to grow closer to another person or to God, in the process we may get hurt and that is where the risk occurs. Faith is reasonable, blind faith-believing in God with nothing to support the belief is not reasonable, if being true to your conscience and to your intellect causes you to not have faith than it is better not to have faith than to having blind faith. Faith is certain, there is no doubt it is complete belief and trust. Faith seeks understanding, by having faith in something we want to grow in our faith and the way to do this is by learning more about our faith through research and asking questions. Faith is a virtue, it is moral excellence and right action and thinking.
