Thanksgiving
is worship and praise given unto God for the mercy
and benefits He has given us. We should give
praise and thanks unto Him every day, and not just
on one particular day of the year.
Psalms
100 is a Psalm of praise to God. It admonishes
us to be joyful and gives us the reasons why we
should have the joy of the Lord and praise unto him
who created us. We are to serve the Lord with
gladness and come before His presence with singing,
knowing that He is God who
made us and we did not
make ourselves. We are His people and the
sheep of His pasture. We are to exalt and
worship Him as He is holy and inhabits the praises
of His people. His mercy and loving kindness
endures forever, from generation to generation.
On
this day set aside as Thanksgiving, we remember the
story of the first Thanksgiving and of our
ancestors. Let us also remember God our
creator and Jesus who has redeemed us and gives us
his many benefits.
May
we sing as the Psalmist David, "Bless the Lord,
O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy
name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget
not all his benefits." He is worthy of
all praise and glory.
May
you have a Thanksgiving filled with His love.
As we gather together with our families whom God has
given us and feast on the food He has provided; let
us truly thank Him for the bountiful blessings
given, with a heart of praise.
O
give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good and His
mercies shall endure forever.

Psalms 100
"Make
a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve
the Lord with gladness; come before his
presence with singing.
Know
ye that the Lord he is God; it is he that
hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are
his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter
into his gates with thanksgiving, and into
his courts with praise; be thankful unto
him, and bless his name.
For
the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;
and his truth endureth to all
generations."
The
Lord bless thee and keep
thee. Num. 6-24.
