Free Gift Of Salvation

The best gift of all is the free gift of salvation.  As many as receive this gift of God's only son, Jesus, receive power to become the sons of God.  Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  This is a promise of God the Father who gave his only begotten son that we might have eternal life.  He came to earth as the babe in a manger to die on the cross at Calvary.  His shed blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness and sin.  Because He lives, we also have the promise of eternal life if we only believe and live for Him.

How can you believe?  Romans 10: 9 and 10 tells us that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved.  With the heart we believe unto salvation and righteousness.  When we confess the Lord with our mouth, we are confessing unto salvation.

What can you do to show that you believe?  You can sincerely pray this prayer, telling God that you believe and accept his son as your Lord and Saviour.  Then you must let Jesus lead you daily by his Spirit.

"Dear Lord God, I realize that I am a sinner.  Your word tells us all have sinned and are in need of a Saviour.  Please forgive me for my sins.  I believe that your son, the Lord Jesus Christ. died to pay for my sins.  I trust him now as my personal Saviour and Lord.  I ask Him to come into my life.  I thank you for hearing me and receive Him into my heart by faith.  Amen."

If you have truly accepted the Lord Jesus as your personal Saviour, you now have the promise that you are going to heaven.  The Book of John gives us many promises of our salvation and is a good book to begin reading in the Holy Bible.  Read God's Word daily to grow in Christ.  Obey his words and commandments and receive blessings.

How do you know you have made the right decision?  John 3: 36 tells us that "He who believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."    1 John 5: 13 tells us " these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may knw that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

You can always be assured of God's help as promised us in Hebrews 13: 5.  This Scripture says, "he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."   Matthew 28: 20 also tells us Jesus is always with us through his Holy Spirit, even until the end of the world.

God bless and keep you in his love.  Merry Christmas!
