Reva: Isn't this the most glorious day ever? Marah: It's beautiful, Mama. Not a cloud in the sky.
Reva: Okay, listen up! Reva Shayne is getting married again today. And I want everyone everywhere to be as blissfully happy as I am.
Cassie: Okay, but we have to finish getting you ready. Come, sit down.
Reva: I'm not going to sit. I'm too excited to sit. I mean, I know this is the second time for me and everything, but I've got so many butterflies in my stomach, I can't stand it.
|

Cassie: Um... This is a letter from Roxie. Reva: Roxie?
Cassie: Yeah.
Reva: "Dear Reva, the doctors just told me your big news. I'm so happy things worked out for you and Josh. It gives me hope things will work out for me one day. I'm sorry I can't be there for the wedding, but you'll be in my thoughts and in my heart today and always. I love you...Roxie."
|

Reva: I love you, too.

Reva: Pop! Oh, you made it!
Hawk: Oh, I wouldn't miss my first born retying the knot with her one true love for all the stars in the heavens. Hey!
Reva: What?
Hawk: Happy wedding day, Reva gal.
Reva: Thank you.
|

Reva: They're the most beautiful roses I've ever seen in my life.
Hawk: After what I paid for them, they dang well better be.
Reva: You old scoundrel! You haven't changed a bit.
Hawk: And neither have you. You're still as pretty as a picture.
Reva: Well, you look pretty, too. The tux was a nice touch.
Hawk: Well, I got... I really wanted to get one of them sky blue monkey suits to match your eyes. But wouldn't you know it's prom week?
Reva: (Laughs)
Hawk: I hope me wearing this getup don't... Don't embarrass you.
Reva: You look so handsome.
Cassie: You do. You look very distinguished.

Reva: You remember Cassie, don't you? From H.B.'S memorial service? Although we didn't know we were sisters then.
Hawk: Oh, so you are the secret that Sarah almost took to her grave.
Reva: Pop!
Hawk: Well, it's true. That don't mean I hold a grudge against you, gal. Lord knows, with my drinking and wild-catting, I gave Sarah plenty of cause to step out on me. Welcome to the family, Cassie. Oh, lord! Child, you are Sarah's daughter from head to toe. Your Mama was a fine, beautiful woman, way too good for the likes of me. Lordy! You do look like an angel yourself.
Cassie: Thank you.
Reva: That's exactly what I've been trying to tell her.
Hawk: Well, just look at the two of you, huh? I just wish that Sarah was here to see this. She'd be so proud of you both.

Reva: Actually, Mama said she'd come for the wedding.
Hawk: Say what?
Reva: You're not going to believe this, but we got a letter from Mama a few weeks ago. It got lost in the mail for over two years.
Hawk: Well, don't that be odd.
Reva: Here, listen to this.
"I know you and Joshua aren't together right now, but that won't be for long, Honey. You have belonged together since you first laid eyes on each other all those years ago. You're going to have to fight for this love again, Reva, but you're going to find it. I promise. Because it's never left you. And when you do, and when you're ready to walk down the aisle with that boy again, your Mama's going to be right there with you, girl, just like a big Oklahoma breeze that blows in. I'll be there, and there won't be a prouder woman in the room. I love you, Reva. Don't you ever forget it. Mama."
Hawk: I can almost hear her saying the words.
|
 |
 |

Hawk: Sister, will you do me the honor of letting me walk you down that aisle today?
Reva: On one condition.
Hawk: I'm sober as a judge. Won't take a whiff. Reva: Pop, no. You have to promise me that when I see Joshua standing at the end of the aisle and I start running toward him, that you'll make me walk. (Laughter)
Hawk: Sister, you can count on it.
Reva: I love you.
Hawk: Right back at you, gal.
Reva: This is going to be the best wedding day ever!
Hawk: Get in here. Get in here. Let's have a family thing here.
