When St. Margaret Marie Alacoque had the vision of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, she was told to convey to King Louis XIV that Jesus wanted His Sacred Heart emblazoned on the flag and arms of the King of France. Being a somewhat worldly and skeptical king, Louis did nothing of the sort. However, other devout Catholics did and the Sacred Heart appeared on badges and flags from the Vendee counter-revolutionaries of France, the Carlist monarchists of Spain to the Cristero vaqueros of Mexico. Since all Catholics of all nations should seek to advance the reign of Christ the King wherever they are, I pieced together some versions of the United States flag which try to keep the established American traditional style, while adding the Sacred Heart in a central way to show Catholic devotion. I doubt the U.S. would ever change the national flag in anyway, but Catholics could use a style like this. |

This is my latest version, I thought the size of the heart and cross were good, and I also tried to add a drop of blood falling to symbolize the spear wound |

I tried to make the heart bigger on this one, but that meant I had to make the cross smaller, so not really an improvement. |
