There she stood

There she stood, straight
from the open car door
into a puddle of mud,
wearing a red dress.
Her arms and hands
above her waist, staring
at the mud clinging
to her shoes.

Did she have to crawl?
Or jump, to leave unscathed?
Or would she glide?
She noticed a green patch,
took the jump,
disappeared into the house,
to her mirror, for diagnosis
and repairs.
