Non-stop
It happens frequently; an old woman or man found dead in front of the TV. Some have been there for months, some for years; no family, or not interested, no friends, no nice neighbours. "We smelt something funny , but it went away." Perhaps a bit of a nasty person, not nice to talk to, something like that. A few months ago they found another dead granny, also in front of her TV which was still on. She was a skeleton. The police asked the local shop owners when they had last seen her. Some thought she had perhaps died or moved away. It might have been a year. But they all agreed on one thing: when she came into your shop it was a matter of trying to get to the back as soon as possible and send some junior assistent inside, to help her and work the till. Why? Some called her non-stop granny; she would just stand there and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk. 1.April.2007 |
