Bio and martial arts background

Ernie Reyes Sr. grew up with his parents, working in the labor field. There he had his first lessons in discipline. This didn't work at school, 'cause Ernie'd be the first to fall asleep and the last being able to read. He did however, excel in all sports his young friends were playing; basketball, soccer, kickball, etc.

In 1967, Ernie decided he had to work harder to achieve his goals. One of those goals was becoming a great martial artist and started training once a week. After graduating from Junior College, Ernie started training more seriously in Tae Kwon Do under Dan Choi and met his lifelong friend Tony Thompson. Ernie would train for 6 days a week and teach for free.

Soon Ernie would be competing and be great at it. He became a Lightweight USA National Champion. After winning many trophies, Ernie developed his dynamic West Coast Demo Team. In that time, Ernie became a popular teacher. Some of his students were Cynthia Rothrock and George Chung.

Since then, Ernie won numerous titles and awards. Some are:
Black Belt and PKA's Instructor of the Year
California State Tae Kwon Do Grand Champion
USA National Tae Kwon Do Champion in Fights and Forms
and many, many more....

Ernie Sr. also became an actor and choreographer and appeared in several movies. Ernie is happily married and has 3 children. Two of them, Ernie Reyes Jr. and lee Reyes are also great martial artist, who performed with the Demo Team and in some movies.

Ernie Jr. was the first kid ever to get ranked in the national top 10. At the age of 10, he was the first to win a Grand Champion title at a National Karate Tournament. His popularity started after his father added him to a demo-team with George Chung and Cynthia Rothrock. Ernie Jr. was the eye-catcher because of his obvious moves, his athletic skills and his talent. From his 8th to 18th year, he entered over 100 tournaments and won many of them.

Some of his stats are:
Grand Champion at a National Karate Tournament
National Top 10 Ranking, Adult Division in Forms (as a kid) for 3 years

Ernie is now working on an acting carreer. He did great in Turtles 2 as Keno, doing his own stunts as well. Ernie was very popular as a child actor doing martial arts and is still acting, but also producing and directing, sometimes alongside his father and brother.

Lee is Ernie Senior's son and Ernie's brother and a very serious Tae Kwon Do practisioner. His skills made him a member of the West Coast Demo Team. Besides being a performer, Lee appeared in a few movies, some of which with his brother and father. His coolest role was as the kid with an attitude in American Ninja V
