Bio and martial arts background

Mario is the son of Melvin Peebles, who already worked in the film industry as a director, producer and writer. Very soon, Mario realized he wanted to work in the movie business as well and very soon Mario would have his first appearance in a comedy in 1968 and later he'd star in his father's movie: Sweetback's Baadassssss Song. His father would support him, but wanted him to study first and Mario enrolled at Columbia University in NY City. He graduated in 1978 with a degree in Economics and began working as a budget analyst. He left soon to persue an acting carreer.

He would begin with working as a model and doing bit parts in movies. His good looks helped him and he would soon get some lead roles. Mario followed his father's advice and worke very hard, so he could eventually become an even better actor, writer, producer and director making and appearing in various controversial films.

Mario is a goodlooking man, and a sportsman with martial arts skills. In various movies he gets to show his muscles and sometimes his fighting skills. A good example is Solo, where he's a learning and fighting cyborg. Mario also appeared in several movies with cultural and political aspects. Examples are Ali and Posse. Mario will continue working on both sides of the camera.
