Bio and martial arts background
Michael, born of a Russian father, studied Child Psychologie when he was discovered as a model. He had no martial arts background, but was a sportsman and had athletic skills.
After appearing in various movies he was discovered and asked to play the American Ninja, which wouold make him world famous. He was chosen for his looks and acting skills. After some lessons in martial arts and boxing under Mike Stone, Michael was physically capable of doing most of his own scenes. He would reuse his skills later in the cool action series Cobra. In this way he got to work with action stars such as Sophia Crawford and Michael Bernardo, both from WMAC-Masters.
Michael keeps his feet to the ground, and tries to stay himself as much as possible. He still does various movies and in the mid-90's he was THE action heroes making countless movies. But it is his role in the American Ninja part 1, 2 and 4 that people will remember him for. |
