In the very early 80s, Amanda Donohoe appeared in two Adam Ant music videos. Shortly after that, she was accepted at The Central School for Speech and Drama in London. After graduation, she went on to perform in stage productions in Manchester and some minor TV and movie roles. She exploded onto the screen in 1987 with a dynamic, nervy role as Lucy Irvine in Castaway. This lead to several starring roles and high profile projects such as the back to back Ken Russell productions of the remarkable Lair of the White Worm and The Rainbow. As the 80s ended, Amanda Donohoe prepared to move to the United States to seek bigger opportunities in Los Angeles. |
