This Devine family history has been researched by their descendants Gwen, Kim, John and Leon. With the help of our families it has taken several years and is not complete as further research will uncover new facts.
Our research from the Port Adelaide Library, the Library of South Australia, and the Genealogical Society of the Northern Territory was helpful. A great deal of information came from the Albury and District Historical Society, giving us plenty of leads to follow up on. Finally, many visits to the NSW State Archives and the State Library of NSW enabled us to piece together our family history from the time James Devine started his life in Australia.
