At a young age Richard got interested in Judo, which was the only available martial arts there. He was 10 years old. After 2 years and a brown belt Rich heard about a Goju-Kai Karate school. He would meet a great friend, Bob Jones, travel to America and switch from Goju-Kai to Zen Do Kai. Richard is an expert in Zen Do Kai and has a 4th degree black belt. He works in many dojo's as a popular sensei.
In 1972 Rich took a job as bodyguard, for many celebrities such as Mick Jagger, David Bowie and many more famous stars. But the most influencing friendship was the one with Chuck Norris. After they met they would start training. Rich's skills with weapons, especially with the Sais, impressed Chuck and Aaron. This would be the start of Rich's movie carreer as they cast him for a lead role in "The Octagon" in 1980.
Richard has now worked several times with some of the greatest stars such as Cynthia Rothrock, Jackie Chan, Samo Hung, Kathy Long, Chuck Norris and many more, as an actor, stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director.
Richard, a true fighter keeps training and recently gaine his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Jean Jaques Machado.
Trivia: Richard was the bad guy and several stunt ninjas in The Octagon. He died seven times!!!!!! ;-)
