Bio and martial arts background
Born on 1939 in Niagara Falls.
Being abandoned by his father, growing up in a poor family, Pat had a rough childhood. In that time he discovered that he was a fighter. he woul;dn't look for trouble, but he wouldn't run away either.
Later Pat would begin training in Tang Soo Do. Pat even trained in Korea. At a tournament, Pat met Chuck Norris who had the same training background. Pat worked very hard in that period, and even found time to managa his Karate school. Chuck would become Pat's trainer and this led Pat to become a 9th Degree Black Belt. In Chuck Norris' Black Belt Competition Team, pat fought many, many matches losing just once. In 1971 Pat became a National Champion and in 1975 and '76 Pat won the Golden Fist Award for being the best Karate referee. In 1995 Pat became the Black Belt's Instructor of the Year.
In the early 70's, Enter the Dragon was being made. A lot of stuntmen turned out to be incapable of doing good fights. Bob Wall noticed this and called for Pat Johnson. Pat's carreer as a stuntman had begun. Pat turned out to be so good, that he became a stunt coordinator.
Pat's expertise launched the carreers of many now very popular actors and stuntmen. Many of them were asked for WMAC-Masters later; Christine Rodriguez from Karate Kid 4, Chris Casamassa, Hakim Alston, Michael Bernardo and Erik Betts from Shootfighter, Richard Branden from Mortal Kombat and Ho Sung Pak, Ho Young Pak and Larry Lam from Turtles. Pat also made martial arts in movies legendairy after making The Karate Kid part 1.
Pat has since long retired from competition but he continues to work as a stuntman and personal trainer to may people, including several celebrities. |
