In Memoriam - Class of 1970

Ó

Keller, Jane - In 1996 she was killed by an automobile while crossing a street in Toledo, Jane had a Ph. D. from the U. of Illinois in epidemiology and had been teaching industrial health at the Medical College of Ohio. Before that she worked for about ten years in Springfield, Illinois for the Illinois Department of Health doing analyses of disease clusters in communities all over the state. Several of her articles appeared in public heath journals, and some of her designs were published in quilting magazines. Jane had no kids and was single - she devoted a lot of time and income to her students , her church groups, and her pets. When we buried the urn with her ashes near our parents' graves in Yuma, I read from the Sermon on the Mount : "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt and where thieves break through and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven . . . for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." -- Obituary by Pete Keller.
