    After Clarinda and William Eccles were divorced, Clarinda moved her nine children from Arkansas to Missouri, settling in Belton, MO. They moved into a house belonging to a Mr. Graves, near Jaudon, MO. Clarinda wove rugs on a loom and the boys worked as laborers for Mr. Graves to support the family.

      ROSS FUNERAL HERE MONDAY
      Had Lived in Elkhart Since 1924: Funeral Held Monday at Church of God: Burial Here
      Mrs. Isabelle Ross, 77, died at the home of her son, Frank Ross, Saturday night, following a week's serious illness. She had been in ill health for the past year or so, but her condition did not become grave until about 10 days ago.
      Funeral services were held Monday, July 3rd. at the Church of God here, with Rev. Earl Chestnut officiating. A quartet composed of Mrs. Earl Bennett, Mrs. Earl Chestnut, Misses Ruth and Ruby Swagerty sang three songs. Pallbearers were: J. E. Burks, H. A. Martin, Ben Swagerty, Asa Hodges, Harry Lawyer, and W. P. Riley. Interment was in the Elkhart Cemetery under direction of the Swain Mortuary.
      Mrs. Ross had lived in Elkhart since 1924 and had filled her place in the community capably. She leaves to mourn her passing a host of relatives and friends.

      OBITUARY
      Isabelle Eccles was born in Belton, TX, November 9th, 1861, where she lived the first few years of her childhood. She moved with her parents to Missouri, where she was united in Marriage to William Lease (Luce) Ross in 1879. To this union was born eight children, five girls and three boys. Her husband and three children preceded her in death. The ones who survive are: Mrs. Susan Carrier, Cherryvale, KS; Mrs Grace Kornele of Elkhart, KS; Mrs. Alma Forbes of Elkhart, KS; Mrs. Melia(Permelie) Forbes of Benkleman, NE; and Frank Ross of Elkhart. Besides her children, she leaves to mourn her death, 43 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, 3 brothers; 2 sisters and many other relatives and a host of friends.
      She united with the Christian Church at an early age and continued to live a Christian life until her death. She departed this life July 1st, 1939, at her home in Elkhart at the age of 77 years, 7 month and 22 days.
