iv. ROBERT MONROE was born 1811 in TN, and died 1871 in KY. He married (1) MARY FIELDS May 12, 1828 in McMinn County, TN. Mary died in childbirth when their youngest child was born. He married (2) ELIZABETH P. MATHENA Aft 1850.The 1860 census does not show any of these family members present in McMinn county. It is believed Robert moved his family to Kentucky as that is where his residence is listed in the court case regarding his father's estate.

vi. NANCY MONROE was born September 13, 1814 in McMinn County, TN, and died January 26, 1902 in Eldon, Maries County, MO. She married JOSEPH WILSON May 05, 1832 in McMinn County, TN, son of James Wilson.
vii. CATHERINE MONROE, b. 1817; buried in the Simpson Cemetery, McMinn County, TN. She married LIDE W. DOBBS November 02, 1843 in McMinn County, TN.
viii. ELIZABETH JANE MONROE, b. 1817, Grainger County, TN; d. January 26, 1902, Eldon, Maries County, MO. She married THOMAS MCCOLLUM January 28, 1846 in McMinn County, TN.
ix. MARGARET MONROE, b. May 24, 1817; d. December 24, 1904, Meigs County, TN. She married MORRIS HARDIN.
x. JOSEPH MARION MONROE, b. 1818, McMinn County, TN; d. 1863, McMinn County, TN. He married HARRIET NEWELL DAVIS November 27, 1847 in Monroe County, TN.
xi. GEORGE WILLIAM MONROE, JR., b. August 29, 1819, TN; d. February 06, 1863, Murfreesboro, Stones River, TN. He married (1) ELIZABETH PEARSON April 25, 1840 in McMinn County, TN, daughter of Doctor Pearson. He married (2) MARGARET SIMPSON July 15, 1855 in McMinn County, TN. George was wounded in the Battle of Murfreesboro and died Feb 6, 1863 in the Field hospital near Murfreesboro.
