Maryland

Below I have listed some interesting facts and links to some of Maryland's best websites. From the historical point of haunted houses and landmarks to a delicious recipe for soft shell crabs ... you will find many interesting things to do if you ever visit here. We have many wonderful beaches (Ocean City is the BEST!) and it's truly a beautiful place to live. I could do without the humidity during summer (UGH!) but the winters are as cold as they can be, the spring sends us so many different choices for flowers, plants, and crops ... and my favorite season is the fall where all the leaves turn such beautiful colors. If you're ever considering a vacation, think about Maryland.  There are so many fun things to do here including hiking, camping, and my personal favorite fishing ... or even Ocean City where the sand and water are both breathtaking. Enjoy your visit with us!

MD Striped Bass (Rockfish)Maryland's Natural Resources (DNR):  This is really the best website to explore if you're interested in learning about Maryland's resources ... from fishing to camping to EVERYTHING!! This state offers a variety of recreational activities. The state fish is the Striped Bass (aka Rockfish) and the current Maryland Chesapeake Bay record for the striped bass is 67 lbs., 8 oz.

Visit MD's Haunted Houses and AttractionsHaunted Houses and Attractions in Maryland:  You'd be surprised at the historical content Maryland has!  Historic St. Mary's City and Point Lookout are some interesting places for those in search of life during the Civil War era.

MD Blue CrabMaryland's Seafood Recipes:  Maryland is famous for its blue crabs pictured here.  You steam these, live, smothered in Old Bay seasoning.  Some eat them with butter and lemon and some with ketchup and vinegar (I enjoy them both).  You can also fry these if you've caught them after they shed their shells and are soft.  NO! REALLY! They're delicious!

MD Chesapeake BayOcean City:  What can I say about Ocean City?  It's a beautiful beach on the Chesapeake Bay where the Boardwalk and entertainment cannot be beat.  This is perhaps the place people visit the most in their travels to Maryland.

MD State FlagHometown USA, Welcome to MD:  This site will show you some of what I have here and hopefully more on your interest in Maryland.
