(Poem - written Friday, September 14, 2001)

September Mourn

It happened on a Tuesday
As I prepared to go to bed
The radio told of four crashes
For which thousands are feared dead

I turned on the television
And saw the Twins standing tall
Then one fell before the other
Then they weren't there at all

The perpetrators knew where to hit
To strike our way of life at its heart
To target unsuspecting individuals
To tear our business world apart

The Twins weren't the only target
Military headquarters were hit too
Who knows where the fourth plane would have hit
If the evil plan had gone through

I don't know where these events are leading
I don't know how long they'll go on
I'll just have to believe in the phrase
'Tis darkest before the dawn'.

In August 2001, I had intended for my website to have
numerous text-only pages, and minimal graphics. Then
my plans changed on September 11, 2001.
