Changing Times

22-August-2001

I've always known that saying 'sorry' or crying
Won't bring anyone back from the dead
But one day, all I knew just stopped being true
Making people rethink the things they'd said

In the month after the first incident
It seemed like the whole world had changed
Lost friends and family returned to their homes
People's lives had to be rearranged

This was certainly an act of pure good
God must have had a change of heart
Sending back those who were sadly missed
Reuniting families that'd been taken apart

The first one was thought to be a criminal
Until someone proved he was innocent
Then others would return, better than ever
This was an unprecedented event

But first the bad guys had to face justice
And explain the real reasons for their crimes
People were required to pay off their debts
To benefit from these changing times.
