It's been 12 weeks.. news related to Leslie on the papers are getting less and less, the public too, have been talking about him less and less..
Humans are always forgetful, especially in such a fast-paced place like Hong Kong, people have got too many things to worry about. Too many new things one after another to catch their attention.... sigh. But no, I just can't forget Leslie.. and neither can all those who love him, I know. It still hurts, doesn't it. Time is healing the pain so dreadfully slowly...
Mrs.Chan plans to hold charity concert for Leslie
According to Oriental Daily's report on June 13, Florence Chan is planning to set up a charity concert for Leslie along with Commercial Radio, on the coming September 12th - gor gor's birthday.
It was said that the first choice of place where this memorial concert would be held, is the HK stadium (Hung Hum), but they'll first have to check the availability of the stadium.
The initial idea for the concert is to have a group of singers invited, including Anita Mui, Jacky Cheung, Alan Tam, Hacken Lee, Kelly Chen...etc etc, all those friends of gor gor's, to sing his memorable songs once again.
Gor gor has always been very supportive of the two charity organizations - the children's cancer fund and the children's protection fund; that's why the profits of the earlier memorial film exhibition also were donated to them. And this coming concert too, will have its profit donated to these two organizations. It was said that gor gor's family and Mr.Tong will also be invited to come.
The representative of Commercial Radio Ms.Chiu admitted that such idea of a concert is really under planning. She says, :"we are thinking of setting up such a charity concert in September for gor gor, i did speak with Florence Chan, but all the details won't be released until later."
The song "Wei Ni Zhong Qing" originally written for Andy Lau
On the other hand, several news reports on June 18 mentioned a radio interview with Andy Lau earlier on Commercial Radio, a program hosted by Lai Siu-Tin (whom Leslie had thanked particularly back in concert 1988, if you recall) and Sit Ka-Yin. During their talk with Andy Lau, Lai Siu-Tin apologized To Andy regarding the song "Wei Ni Zhong Qing". Lai said that the song originally custom-made, written particularly for Andy Lau, but due to Andy's contract with TVB and all the restrictions, Andy couldn't have sung ths song, so it was given to Leslie instead at the end. Leslie sang the song and it became such a big hit.
Andy thinks that this is the way things in the world always happens, nobody is to be blamed. He believes that even if the song "Wei Ni Zhong Qing" ended up being sung by himself instead of Leslie, the effect wouldn't have been the same, and it might not have been as successful.

On the website, they described Leslie to be "a person full of controversies", that in the show-biz, his private life, his sexuality..etc, many remained obscure, but then Leslie's position as the super idol was never challenged.
The host expresses that, Leslie was more than qualified to be elected, as his performances and achievements in films were undeniable.
The news has been brought to Florence Chan immeidately, and she says she'll tell Mr.Tong and also the Cheung family. Chan says that Leslie had already put in the effort into his career, and that he had been a enthusiastic artist, always striving for improvements, and that hopefully the younger generation today will also have this kind of enthusiasm and attitude as their goal.
