Dec 27.2001- The MTV of the duet with Anita Mui, 'fong wa juet doi', was finally finished after two days and two nights. This time Leslie doesn't appear in the MTV, but took a very major role behind the camera. Apart from being the director, Leslie was also in charge of the story writing, the clothings and the choosing of the three male characters in the MTV. The whole production fee was over a million HK dollars.
How did they get Leslie there - the answer: the funniest scene in the movie, where Andy has his hair tied up, wearing a skirt, singing 'wind continues to blow' - exactly like Leslie! Sandra Ng said on the radio that Andy Lau and her were very nervous when the scene came out, and they watched tightly on Leslie, who was sitting two rows infront of them - "see if Leslie would angrily leave the seat," said Sandra laughing, "turned out that he was laughing so hard that he fell out of the seat and sat back up!" Andy Lau said, "I asked Leslie afterwards, 'how was it?', he laughed and said 'waa!!! you imitated so real!!!'"

Nov 30.2001- It's the 12th anniversary of the famous chinese opera singer, Yam Kim-Fai's death. Bak Suet-Sin held a memorial at her own house to pay respect to Yam, inviting many of her students and friends - Leslie also arrived with Mr. Tong before dinner started.
Dec 20.2001- Andy Lau's new film "Dance of a Dream" had its premiere last night! Apart from stars in the film - Andy Lau, Sandra Ng, Anita Mui..etc, they managed to invite a special guest - Leslie!

Leslie wasn't angry at all that he was imitated, "ofcourse not angry la, Anita Mui did ask me about it earlier, Andy also phoned me specially about it, he really respected me." But because Andy's imitation was 'too realistic', Leslie said jokingly that he'll have to charge them the icon fee.
Dec 18.2001- Film company 'Sing-Ho'(?) yesterday moved to a new location, stars under the company all attended the celebration, and Leslie also attended as a special guest. Leslie was in a very good mood when he was led around the new place by the boss, and he also answered reporters' questions. When talking about Tsui Hak's new movie "saam siu yeh dik gim" (the sword of the 3rd brother) that Leslie would take part in, Leslie said that he hasn't done any goo-jong (chinese old fashioned films) ever since 'The Bride with White Hair'. But he's not worried about having to wear a long-hair wig, "you just have to make sure you wash it and clean the glue after you wear it, then you don't need to worry about your hair not growing."
Apart from this they also talked about the MTV of the duet with Anita Mui, which Leslie directed, and how Anita injured her foot during the shooting. The last part Leslie originally wanted to have Anita walking, but now she'll have to sit on a chair instead.

Dec 10.2001- Anita Mui held her concert "Mui Music Show" at the Wan Chai convention centre last night. Many stars performed as guests - Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Andy Hui... originally Leslie was going to appear at the end and sing his new duet with Anita, "fong fa juet doi" ('the golden age', something like that) but Leslie was busy that he wasn't able to come. (Ming Pao said he was in a meeting for a new MTV he is directing) So the section was cancelled.
[Dec 10.2001 - Not really "news" but: Andy Lau in a radio program said that years ago, he did accept Wong Kar-Wai's offer to film 'Happy Together' - Leslie's role! But he didn't end up doing it for his concert, so Wong found Leslie. It'd have been him and Tony Leung instead if he took it. Surprise surprise~]
Dec 8.2001- UMG held a MTV premiere of the UMG group-singing song "gung bo gwoh dung"(going through winter together) which, for the first time is simultaneously given to all the karaoke places in HK. Singers that participated included Leslie, Hacken Lee, Paul Wong..(Alan Tam, Cecilia Cheung and Daniel Lee also are in the song). The newspaper reported that "Leslie appeared as the number one big brother of UMG". He quickly slipped away from the reporters who wanted to interview him. It was funny when the MTV was being played, he was all surrounded by reporters so he laughed and said, "please don't be like this you guys, I only sing the first three lines so my face only gets to appear in the beginning!! I want to see ar!!"

Nov 19.2001- A party cereomy was held in Macau (the "Wan-Ah Star's Cup"? Something like that), some 40 stars were invited. Leslie wearing his sparkling suit was pretty much the focus (he was seated between the two Mr. Ho's: Ho Hau-Wa, governor of Macau and Ho Hung-Sung, the "gamble king"). After dinner there was an out-door overnight dance party, where Leslie danced with many people including Pansy Ho [below left] and Amanda [below right].

Sept 29.2001- Chingy Yau's husband Shum Ka-Wai, the big boss of the store I.T. held a big fashion show at the convention centre, inviting many stars. Leslie in his very happy mood, sat closely, talked and laughed with his good friend Sandra Ng the whole night. Leslie was being very humerous - Sandra was wearing this sexy outfit, and when Leslie saw reporters taking pictures, he immediately tried to take off her coat to make fun but failed. When reporters asked him "do you think Sandra's hot after getting skinny?", to which he humerously replied, "she has always been very hot, didn't you know that?"
June 23.2001- Briggite Lin's husband, the boss of ESPRIT, opened another new store in Shanghai and there he invited many guests at the opening, including Leslie and Anita Mui. And according to the reporters, it was all crowded and almost all were Leslie's fans, and Leslie ended up busy doing autographs and all..the fans were very excited and all the mainland press wanted to interview Leslie.. and it got so out-of-control that they ended up having 20 security guards surrounding Leslie to block everybody out!
June 22.2001- Leslie met up with the Kinki Kids! According to the news, Leslie has been Domoto Koichi's idol for a long time - he even has the whole DVD set of "A better tomorrow", that's why the Japan Fuji TV organized for them to meet up. They said that Leslie asked Kinki Kids to dance Cha Cha, and that Leslie joked in Japanese :"you guys are really bad at it!" And then they asked Leslie to try their dance, and ofcourse Leslie had no problem with it. And at the end they even composed a song immediately, called "I love Leslie Cheung" as a gift to Leslie.
June 10.2001- Briggite Lin-Qing-Xia gave birth (the 2nd time) to a baby girl yesterady. Many of her good friends, like Leslie, all went to visit her at the hospital. Leslie appeared at the hospital at around 3pm and stayed for around half an hour. When asked by the reporters, Leslie said that Briggite was in good shape, and that the baby girl was pretty - looked like Briggite herself.
June 06.2001- Leslie flew to Japan recently and yesterday he appeared at the promotional activities for "Okinawa-Rendez-vous" in Tokyo (the movie would be played next month in Japan). He was in super good mood, and he even showed his Japanese skills - he said to the press in Japanese: "I tried the Okinawa chicken wings and Okinawa noodles - they're really good!" which bought laughters among the audience.
