Brett Somers and Charles Nelson Reilly could be seen on this version and other stars from the late 80's and early 90's. ABC placed the Match
Game on the noon time slot, plus, ABC gave the local ABC
channels the option to have the local news or the Match Game. Most large markets
chose the news at noon over the Match Game. It is now time to go back in time ten years ago
when some areas of the country was showing Match Game.

The game was basically the same Match Game we all
know and love, but the scoring was different. There were two rounds played. Each
correct answer earned a contestant $50. The same celebrity(s) could play in
round 2 whether they matched or not.

After the first round was played, a new featured was played called Match
Up, which could earn the contestant more money. In some cases it could determine
the winner of the game. Each contestant, one at a time, would pick one celebrity
to play Match Up with. The first time Match Up was played in a game the
contestant and the celebrity would have 30 seconds to play Match Up. The
contestant would have a fill in and two answer choices, once the contestant
makes his/her decision Ross would read the fill in and the choices to the
celebrity. If the celebrity said the same thing as the contestant marked down,
the contestant would win $50.

In this episode, 3 different game
shows were mentioned during Match Up.
After both contestants played Match Up, round two
would be played. After round two was played, it would be time to play Match Up.
This time each contestant (one at a time) would have 45 seconds to match a
celebrity and each correct answer was worth $100. Whoever made the most money in
the game would then go on to play the Super Match which could pay off over
$10,000. Let see how these contestants did.

This lady has to beat $1100 will she do it? No,
she lost by $300. So the other contestant wins the game and $1100. Now it is
time for the Super Match.

Just like the 70's set, the 90's set
also has a turn table.

The Super Match did change slightly. The most
popular response from the studio audience was still worth $500. The second most
popular however was worth $300 and the bottom $200. Three stars could still
help, Bill Kirchenbauer said, "Identical Twins". Let's see if it is the most
popular response.
FOR $500.........

IT IS IDENTICAL!
The contestant would now play for ten times the
amount or $5,000. That was the minimum he could play for. A lucky spin at the
star wheel could double his jackpot. If it lands on a dot, the jackpot would be
doubled.

The contestant spun the green arrow and it landed
on Bill. That of course is who the contestant would have to match in the head to
head match. He did not land on a dot so the jackpot remained the same at
$5,000.
