Knight of the Order of the Republic Some sources believe that this order has only one class, that of Grand Cross, but this image from Emmanuel Halleux shows differently. Mr. Halleux has also seen a Commander version of this Order, which was manufactured by Cejalvo in Madrid, and has a plain silver-gilt reverse. The Order was apparently instituted in 1984 and became obsolete in 1985 with the fall of the last Uruguay military dictator.
