Honourable Order of the Palm (Knight) Surinam (Republic) This order was instituted by president Johan H. Ferrier as Suriname's junior order on 17 may 1977. The palm tree represents Surinam's commitment to growth and the blooming of righteousness. It may be conferred with swords, in this case placed between ribbon & badge. The military stars bear the swords crossed above the centre, not through the middle. They were manufactured by the company "Agri-Delft Holland" (Jan 03) |
