• Saint Kitts & Nevis (Federation of) – This is some preliminary information I have on the awards of this country. It appears that The National Heroes Act, 1997 created the National Honours. The Orders, Decorations and Medals are in three single class orders: "The Order of National Hero", "The Star of Merit" and "The Medal of Honour."
  • Knight Grand Commander of the Order of National Hero (K.G.N.H.) is the highest grade of The Order of National Hero
  • Persons awarded the "Star of Merit" will carry behind their names, "Companion of the Star of Merit (CSM)"
  • Those awarded the "Medal of Honour" will carry "Recipient of the Medal of Honour (MH)."

• Saint Kitts & Nevis (Federation of) – First Recipients of Star of Merit and Medal of Honour to be Announced on National Heroes Day (Sep 99)

• Sir Kennedy Receives Medal of Honour In Anguilla Dr. the Right Honourable, Sir Kennedy Simmonds, first Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis was presented with the Medal of Honour and a Queen's Certificate for his contribution to Anguilla . Sir Kennedy was awarded for being the Premier at the time in St. Kitts when the British Government passed the Anguilla Act in December 1980 severing formal links with St. Kitts/Nevis and creating the island an Overseas Territory . • Amendment to National Honours Act goes to parliament Deputy Prime Minister, Sam Condor will seek parliamentary approval to amend the National Honours Act. The proposed amendment will provide for a fourth class of honour to be called “The Order of Saint Christopher and Nevis”. Only Visiting Heads of State or a person with similar status, and whose government has made substantial contribution to the development of Saint Christopher and Nevis will be eligible for the award of the “Order of Saint Christopher and Nevis”.
