Satish Gujral gets rare Mexican honour Painter, muralist and architect Satish Gujral today became the first Indian to be conferred the Order Mexicana del Aguila Azteca, by the Mexican ambassador at the Imperial Hotel. The order, constituted in 1933, is the highest honour that the Mexican government bestows on a non-citizen, for distinguished service to Mexico and humanity. ‘‘My President decided to confer this award on maestro Gujral for his immense contribution to strengthening the cultural ties between the two countries,’’ said Rogelio Granguillhome, the Mexican ambassador. cities.expressindia.com 27 Feb 06
