SEWING ROOM PICTURES

This is a picture of the left side of my sewing room as you enter the room.
I made the settee cover and pillows.
I use the left side of the white closet for storing my sewing supplies in plastic containers.
The top section of the closet is filled with sewing books and more supplies.
The right side is for hanging my stash of fabrics. Yes, I am a true seamstress when I can say I have stash. Sometimes I think I am a fabric-a-holic. I first wash my fabric and then hang it over a plastic hanger. I try to mark each piece with the amount of yardage and the width of each piece, but don't always follow my wise advice.
It is so much nicer to be able to hang fabric instead of folding it.
The closet was one of the best investments I have made for the room.

As we move to the right around the room,
you will see my sewing machine and to the right of my sewing machine is my serger.
Both of my machines are Bernina. If anyone is looking for a great machine to buy, I highly recommend the Bernina models. They are great machines.
I made the covers for both of the machines,
the two thread catchers hanging in the front
and covered the lampshade to match.
Standing next to the work area is my dress form. There is quite a story behind the making of my dress form. To see a larger picture with the story go to, My Duct Tape Double.
I keep my sewing center open at all times since I have made the covers for the machines.
It has turned into a great sewing area for me.

Moving around the room is my relaxing rocking chair area. I do some hand sewing in my rocker while looking out into my garden and bird sanctuary. This room has now been transformed into a pleasant work area for me. I made all the topper curtains, the roman shade on the door, the slipcover for the settee and all the pillows. I was very fortunate to get the material on a remnant bin at a fabric store so I saved myself a bundle of money. I spent a year looking for fabric to coordinate with the striped material and was not having any luck at all. I covered fabric stores from here to Missouri looking for something that would just grab me and say "I belong in your sewing room." Then one day I was in the local Wal-Mart store and came across the large floral print you see on my pillows and sewing machine covers. I was so surprised to see that this fabric is a real close match to the wallpaper in my adjoining breakfast area and kitchen. I am pleased to say, I did the complete room for less than $200.00.
