AZAELEAS

This small shrub is a member of the Rhododendron family. It came from Japan to grace the gardens of the southern United States.

A mixture of peat and sandy soil is best for azaeleas. They do best in partial shade. As the roots are near the surface, loosening of the soil should not be attempted.

Not much water is needed after they are well started.
